Philly Marathon Training W9D1
A few things:
1) It was freezing! Although I do enjoy not drowning in my own sweat, I do not enjoy the reminder that we are on the downhill slope towards winter.
2) I did not want to get up when the alarm went off at 5:30. And I only had to slog through an easy 5 miles. This is nothing compared to the time I’ll have to get up or the effort I’ll have to put in tomorrow. And let’s not even talk about Thursday. As a matter of fact, except for a few exceptions, over the next 10 weeks, a 5:30 wake up for an easy 5 miles is about as good as it’s gonna get, so I should be grateful for it.
3) I’m an idiot. At the beginning of this training, I set up all of the runs on the calendar on the Garmin Connect. Just today, on the first day of week 9, I discovered that I can pull up my workout with two taps of the bezel. Much better than the calendar checking, button pushing, bezel tapping and endless scrolling I had been doing to pull it up. I can sleep in for at least another minute.
And as a bonus: the last couple of days, the husband has told me that he has gotten a two minute warning that I was coming home. He has heard “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy” over the baby monitor as the Little Man sees me, through his bedroom window, walking down the street and up the driveway. All I hear is crying when I walk in because he is upset that I disappeared by walking into the house.
Hope you all have a great Monday!
