Have I ever mentioned how much I dread Tuesdays? For one, Tuesday is my Monday. And it also means a 3:45 wake up for speed work. Ugh…
Today’s workout was 5 x 1k with a target pace of 5:48/km. yes, for this slowpoke, that does qualify as speed work. I really had myself worked up about this one and thought I’d fail. I am not a big fan of speed work. If you gave me a choice between 16 miles and a speed session, I’d probably pick the 16 miles. But, the only way to show improvement is to step outside your comfort zone, right? And Lord knows, I could stand some improvement.
So, anyways, I went out there, I did it, and I nailed every interval. It didn’t turn out as bad as I thought it would. One more speed session next week, then on to strength sessions on Tuesdays.
Now, don’t mind me as I lay here a few more minutes.
