Philly Marathon Training W11D4
I feel like crap. Check that…I felt like crap.
After yesterday’s run, I was hit full throttle by a head cold. Tea, half a box of tissues, in bed by eight…the whole nine yards. So, it would have been easy to just blow off the run this morning in favor of quality time in my bed.
Sometimes it’s best to pull back and others it’s best to push through. Since colds don’t tend to settle in my chest, I figured it would do no harm to get out there today. And I am so glad I did! I feel 10,000x better than I did when I woke up. I didn’t try to push my pace one bit, I took it real easy. And I pulled some better splits than I have been lately on the easy runs as a result of the cumulative fatigue. Whaaaat?
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel completely better. There will definitely be lots of tea and couch time between picking up my new car and making sure that I get running clothes and football, soccer, and cheerleading uniforms clean.
Target pace: 12:05-12:55
Actual pace: 12:22
