Philly Marathon Training W13D5
That’s right, show them a pic of you eating that post-run apple. That will fool them. They’ll never guess that yesterday you ate 4 pieces of pizza and a few too many baby back ribs. Oh, did I say that out loud? Oh, well. Just living the life. The life of someone in marathon training, that is.
Today was like Groundhog Day. Same distance and route as yesterday. Although more effort and less speed. I seem to feel the effects of cumulative fatigue at their highest on Saturdays for some reason.
I have to boogie to get ready to go to the boys’ football game. After that, it will be Lazy Town U.S.A. There will be a nap in order. I think I may also watch Spirit of the Marathon to channel all the peeps running Chicago Marathon tomorrow.
Tomorrow is going to be about meeting back up with some firsts: my first half marathon and my first follower. Did you know you have that dubious distinction? By the way, folks, I may not have an accent, but he sure does. And not the one you’d suspect.
I want to send a shout out to everyone running the Chicago Marathon tomorrow. I am woefully behind on my dash, so in case I don’t catch up, could you send me a message with your bib number? I’d love to track your awesomeness. Good luck to Chris, Sharon,David, Carloyn, Sarah’s Jeremy, Liz, Liz, and Michael. There are so many of you, hopefully I didn’t miss anyone. Best of luck achieving what ever goal you have for this race. You’ve put in the work, now is time to bask in the glory.
Happy Saturday, all!
