Philly Marathon W15D3
No big deal. I just ran 12 miles before 6:00 on a Thursday morning. Who have I become? Today was my first 10 mile tempo/marathon pace run of training. My target pace for the middle 10 was 10:52. I like to hit pace on every mile split, but I missed slightly on two of the miles. However, overall, I clearly hit the pace over the entire distance. So, I choose not to consider this a failed attempt.
I have now conquered every workout type this training plan has to throw at me. So, even though I still have three weeks or so of training, I feel that I have proven to myself that I have the mental and physical ability and toughness to make it through what is a fairly challenging and demanding training plan.
Thank you all so much for your support of my fundraising appeal last night through your likes, reblogs, generous donations, and words of intent. I truly appreciate all of it! Through your help, less than 12 hours of going live with my fundraising, I am now $376 closer to my $5,000 fundraising commitment. I understand that some people may intend to donate, but you just weren’t quite ready yet. And now, my fundraising link is lost amongst the hundreds of posts on your dash. For that reason, I am going to include on each of my training posts a no-pressure sales pitch so that you can donate when you are ready. It’s just that, no-pressure. If you can’t donate, I completely understand, but if you want to, I want to make sure you have the fundraising link accessible.

If you would like to donate to my fundraising efforts so I can represent HOPe at the 2014 Boston Marathon, DONATE HERE. If I could ask one favor though, I like to keep my real life people (namely my Mom) out of my tumblr life, so when donating, could you please use an actual name rather than your tumblr name? If you don’t want to use your full name, you could use just a first name. Heck, you don’t even have to use your own name! Just, please send me a message to let me know what name you used, so that I know who to thank. Thank you for your support of me and Team HOPe!
Now, time to do my civic duty. Have a great day!
