Boston Marathon Training W1D1

'Tis the season. Yes, it's the season of presents, and cards, and all sorts of sweet treats. But, I am, of course, referring to marathon training season.

I kicked off my training with 3 easy miles. This is the farthest I’ve gone since Thanksgiving when my knee started bothering me. It felt okay today until I got a twinge with .02 miles left. So, that’s good, I guess. I’d prefer not to feel anything. It feels okay right now, although I haven’t tested it out with going downstairs which is usually when it will rear it’s ugly head after a run. I threw ice on it right away as a precaution. I am also keeping up with my stretching, strengthening and foam rolling each night. Hopefully, before I get too far into marathon training, it will be just a memory and nothing that will hold back my training.

It’s supposed to warm this weekend. Tomorrow is a rest day, and then another easy three on Sunday. However, until I feel completely confident that this knee is 100% okay, I am going to keep my runs to the treadmill.
